Chennai beat Kings XI Punjab by 10 wickets in the second match of the night in UAE. Chennai completed the target of 179 runs set by Punjab at the UAE Cricket Ground in 17 overs with 4 balls to spare. Fap du Plessis and Shane Watson batted brilliantly in Chennai’s victory.
Plessis and Watson shared 181 runs for the first wicket. Plessis remained unbeaten on 87 off 53 balls with 11 fours and one six. Watson added an unbeaten 83 off 53 balls with 11 fours and three sixes.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Punjab lost 4 wickets in 20 overs and scored 178 runs. Captain KL Rahul played a half century innings of 63 runs for Punjab. Nicholas Puran was out for 33 runs.
