Hyderabad beat Punjab by 69 runs in IPL

Sunrisers Hyderabad have beaten Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Hyderabad defeated Punjab by 69 runs in the match played on the night. Following the 202-run target set by Hyderabad at the UAE International Cricket Stadium, Punjab were bowled out for 132 in 16 overs with five balls to spare.

Nicholas Puran’s 77-run half-century for Punjab did not help the team win. Simran Singh and KL Rahul of Punjab added 11 runs each. Rashid Khan of Hyderabad took 3 wickets.

Similarly, Khalil Ahmed and T Natarajan took 2/2 wickets. Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Hyderabad lost 6 wickets in 20 overs and scored 201 runs. For Hyderabad, openers Johnny Bairstow and skipper David Warner played half-centuries.

Bairstow’s 97-run half-century innings saw Warner dismissed for 52 runs. Bairstow and Warner shared 160 runs for the first wicket. Similarly, Abhishek Sharma added 12 runs while Kane Williamson remained unbeaten on 20 runs. Ravi Vishnoi of Punjab took 2 wickets.

Arshdeep Singh took 2 wickets and Mohammad Shami took 1 wicket. With the win, Hyderabad has added 6 points in 6 games. Punjab is at the bottom with 2 points in 6 games.
