The Real Madrid striker takes his place alongside Rui Patricio and Bernardo Silva in the running for the award that recognises the best Portuguese player of the year.
Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the three candidates for the 2017 Quinas de Oro award that honours the best Portuguese player of the year. In addition to the Real Madrid frontman, who received the accolade in 2016, Bernardo Silva and Rui Patricio are also nominated for the distinction.
The trio are all in the running to claim an award that is promoted by the Portuguese Football Federation, the National Football Association and the Players’ Union.
The winner is voted for by coaches, players and fans and will be revealed at a gala ceremony to be held in Lisbon on 19 March.
